Argentina was now 2-0 up and looked to be in control of the game and went in on halftime very happy. France had made a number of substitutions to try and salvage something from the game and on the 80th minute France was awarded a harsh penalty. Kylian Mbappe stepped up to fire away the equaliser and put France back in the game. France put on the pressure and a minute later some nice forward play from France and Kylian Mbappe struck home a fantastic volley pass the Argentina Goal Keeper to level the score 2-2.

The game went into extra time, with both teams trying to find a winning goal and save the game from going into penalties. After some quality football from Argentina the ball fell to Messi in the France box and he tapped away a goal to make it 3-2 to Argentina, there was no doubt that the ball hadn’t crossed the line so Argentina was thinking that this must be it now. Well think again! The way the game was going, anything could happen and 10 minutes after France was awarded a penalty and Mbappe fired home his hat-trick.

The game went to penalties with two world class players scoring the first penalties for their team. Argentina and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez made a saved from Kingsley Coman, before Aurelian Tchouameni missed, which only left Gonzalo Montiel score to win the World Cup for Argentina.
